Plain-language rules for using qrvirus.world, what we do with the things you submit, and the risks of $QRV.

Terms of use
By using qrvirus.world (the "Site") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. QR Virus is run by an anonymous community collective ("we", "us").
What QR Virus is
QR Virus is a community art and meme project. The "virus" is fictional. No QR Virus code, flyer, sticker or page installs software, collects data from your device, or does anything harmful. Every official QR code leads only to qrvirus.world.
Posting QR Virus materials
If you print and share our flyers, posters or stickers, you're responsible for doing it legally and respectfully. That means:
- Only post where it's allowed: community boards, your own property, or places where the owner has said yes.
- Never cover signs, safety notices, artwork, or other people's posters.
- Don't post on vehicles, public infrastructure, or anywhere that causes damage or needs cleaning.
- Follow local laws on flyers and stickers. They vary by city.
We don't direct, supervise or pay for anyone's posting, and we're not responsible for how individuals choose to distribute materials.
Sightings and photo submissions
When you submit a sighting you confirm that you took the photo, that the materials were posted legally, and that the photo doesn't show anyone's face, licence plate or private information without their consent. You give us permission to display, crop and share the photo on the Site and on official QR Virus channels. We review every submission and may reject or remove any of them for any reason.
Not allowed
- Spam, fake sightings, or photos that aren't yours.
- Anything illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, or that harasses someone.
- Trying to break, overload or get around the Site's security.
- Impersonating QR Virus or its team, or making your own QR codes that claim to be official.
No warranties
The Site is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will always be available, accurate or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of the Site, the QR Virus materials, or $QRV.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the Site means you accept the changes.
Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible. No accounts, no email list, no wallet connection, and no advertising trackers.
What we collect
- Sightings you submit: the city you choose, your photo, and an optional social handle so we can credit you.
- Photo data: before upload, your browser shrinks the photo and removes its hidden metadata, including GPS location. We never see where exactly a photo was taken.
- QR scans: when someone scans an official code, we record which code was scanned and roughly when. Not who scanned it. To stop the counter being spammed, we briefly keep a salted, one-way hash of the network address (not the address itself) and delete it within an hour.
- Site analytics: anonymous, cookie-free page-view counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Spam protection: forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're human. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that check.
How it's used and stored
Submissions are stored with our database provider (Supabase) and used only to run the infection map and credit contributors. Rejected photos are deleted. Approved sightings stay public on the map for as long as the project runs. We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Your choices
Want a sighting removed, or your handle taken off? Message us through the official Telegram listed on the official links page and we'll remove it.
The Site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Risk disclaimer
$QRV is a meme coin. It has no intrinsic value, no utility promise, and no expectation of financial return. It exists for entertainment and community.
- Nothing on this Site, or on any QR Virus channel, is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
- Crypto is extremely volatile. You can lose everything you put in. Only use money you can afford to lose.
- Roadmap items and milestones are goals, not promises.
- $QRV launches through Pump.fun on Solana. QR Virus isn't affiliated with Pump.fun, Solana, Jupiter, Raydium or any exchange.
- You're responsible for following the laws where you live, including on buying crypto and on taxes.
- Always verify the contract address on the official links page. We can't recover funds sent to fake tokens or scammers.
